With the first pick in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi from North Carolina-Charlotte. The San Francisco 49ers followed by picking defensive back Ahkello Witherspoon. The Saints took running back Alvin Kamara from Tennessee with a pick obtained from the 49ers that had originally belonged to the Bears.
The Jaguars added Illinois defensive end Dawuane Smoot. Small college wonderkind, wide receiver Cooper Kupp of Eastern Washington, will try to help out Jared Goff in Los Angeles. Ohio State center Pat Elflein was drafted by the Vikings in a pick obtained from the Jets. The Chargers added Indiana guard Dan Feeney. Western Kentucky sends wide receiver Taywan Taylor to the Titans. Cincinnati drafted lineback Jordan Willis from Kansas State. The Ravens drafted Michigan defensive end Chris Wormley.
The Falcons used a pick obtained from Buffalo to draft LSU linebacker Duke Riley. Alex Anzalone, linebacker from Florida, was picked by the Saints. The Carolina Panthers picked defensive end Daeshon Hall from Texas A&M. Ravens' General Manager Ozzie Newsome looked to Alabama to draft linebacker Tim Williams.
Alabama wide receiver ArDarius Stewart was drafted by the Jets with a pick obtained from the Vikings. The Colts took Tarell Basham, a defensive end from Ohio University. Fabian Moreau, defensive back from UCLA, will join the Redskins. The Broncos added wide receiver Carlos Henderson from Louisiana Tech. The Patriots drafted Youngstown State defensive end Derek Rivers. The Buccaneers pick Penn State wide receiver Chris Godwin. The Patriots drafted Troy tackle Antonio Garcia with a pick obtained from the Lions. The Chiefs picked Kareem Hunt, a running back from Toledo.
California quarterback Davis Webb will backup Eli Manning for the Giants. The Raiders selected defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes from UCLA. Texas running back D'Onta Foreman won't need to move far after being drafted by the Texans. The Seahawks drafted Central Florida defensive back Shaquill Griffin. The Rams took Boston College safety John Johnson. The Cowboys kept the run of defensive backs going by picking Jourdan Lewis from Michigan. The Packers took Auburn defensive tackle Montravius Adams. The Steelers added cornerback Cameron Sutton of Tennessee. Michigan defensive back Delano Hill will lineup with the Seahawks. The Lions took Northern Illinois wide receiver Kenny Golladay.
With the first compensatory pick in the draft, the Miami Dolphins selected Cordrea Tankersley, a defensive back from Clemson. The Cardinals drafted Grambling State wide receiver Chad Williams with a compensatory pick obtained from the Panthers. The Eagles took Rasul Douglas, a defensive back from West Virginia with a compensatory pick obtained from the Ravens. The Titans drafted tight end Jonnu Smith from Florida International. The Broncos picked Lamar cornerback Brendan Langley. The Seahawks added North Carolina defensive tackle Nazair Jones. The Saints selected outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson from Florida Atlantic. The San Francisco 49ers took Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard, a relative of former Chargers general manager Bobby Beathard. The Steelers added running back James Conner the University of Pittsburgh. Michigan wide receiver Amara Darboh will join the Seahawks. The third round closed with the Buccanneers selection of LSU linebacker Kendell Beckwith.
