With Gary Kubiak, Rod Chudzinski, Lesley Frazier, Greg Schiano, Jim Schwartz and Mike Shanahan already biting the dust, the NFL coaching carousel is now in high gear. The ax has now also fallen on Wade Philips and Mike Munchak. Penn State's Bill O'Brien has replaced Kubiak/Philips in Houston and Lovie Smith takes over for Schiano in Tampa Bay. Top candidates to fill the remaining openings include , Ken Whisenhunt, Jay Gruden, David Shaw and Art Briles. Josh McDaniel may be given another chance. Perennials Jon Gruden and Bill Cowher are now too removed from coaching to realistically be in anyone's discussion. Mike Shanahan may merit, but is unlikely to be given, another opportunity. Gary Kubiak is worthy of another choice, but may benefit from a year off to ensure he has regained his health. Almost everyone would love to have Nick Saban but that love is rarely returned. Oklahoma's Bob Stoops now appears to be under consideration in Cleveland.
