2020 NFL Draft Second Round

With the first pick of the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected wide receiver Tee Higgins of Clemson. Higgins will become a mainstay receiver for 2020's top draft pick, Joe Burrow. The Indianapolis Colts added USC wide receiver Michael Pittman. The Detroit Lions will be able to run the ball better than any time since Barry Sanders retired with Georgia's D'Andre Swift. Alabama sends safety Xavier McKinner to the New York Giants. Lenoir-Rhyne University caught the attention of coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots drafted defensive back Kyle Dugger. The Carolina Panthers continued to work on patching a porous defense by picking defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos from Penn State. Tua Tagovailoa gets another protector as the Dolphins drafted Robert Hunt, a guard from Louisiana-Lafayette. The Texans bolster their defensive from with tackle Ross Blacklock from TCU. The Jacksonville Jaguars picked Colorado wide receiver Laviska Shenault. Nick Foles and Mitchell Trubisky will have a new tight end as the Bears drafted Cole Kmet from Notre Dame. The Cleveland Browns hope Louisiana State Grant Delpit bounces back from an ankle injury to help in the defensive backfield. The Buccaneers drafted Antoine Winfield, a safety from Minnesota. Speedster KJ Hamler from Penn State becomes another wide receiver target for Drew Lock in Denver. The Falcons need defense and Marlon Davidson, a defensive end from Auburn, will seek to provide it. Following a trade with the New York Jets, the Seattle Seahawks selected Tennessee defensive end Darrell Taylor.
Notre Dame wide receiver Chase Claypool, big and fast, was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson will join the Chicago Bears. From his yacht, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones selected defensive back Trevon Diggs from Alabama. Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts will backup Carson Wentz in Philadelphia. He could also become the Eagles version of Taysom Hill. The Bills finally get their first pick in the draft having traded their top choice for Stefon Diggs and select AJ Epenesa, a defensive end from Iowa. Lamar Jackson won't need to lead the Baltimore Ravens in rushing again this year now that the team has drafted Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins. The Dolphins added Alabama defensive tackle Raekwon Davis. Florida wide receiver Van Jefferson went to the Rams. Ezra Cleveland, a tackle from Boise State, was drafted by the Vikings. The New York Jets gave Sam Darnold a new target in Baylor's Denzel Mims. The Patriots took Michigan linebacker Josh Uche. The Titans added LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton. The Packers selected running back AJ Dillon from Boston College. Mississippi State linebacker Willie Gay will join the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. With the final pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft the Carolina Panthers picked defensive back Jeremy Chinn from Southern Illinois.
