Two cornerbacks were selected in the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft. The New York Giants used a third round pick to select Western Michigan's Sam Beal and the Washington Redskins spent a sixth round pick to take Virginia Tech's Adonis Alexander.
Mississippi State safety Brandon Bryant, Oregon State linebacker Bright Ugwoegbu and Grand Valley State running back Martayveus Carter were also eligible to be drafted but went unselected. It has been reported that the New York Jets are likely to sing Bryant as a free agent.
Among the better known players selected in prior Supplemental Drafts were defensive end Reggie White, wide receiver Cris Carter, quarterbacks Steve Young and Bernie Kosar and tackle Gary Zimmerman. Wide receivers Josh Gordon and Terrelle Pryor are two current players that were selected in Supplemental drafts.
Player that become eligible to be drafted after the regular draft can request to be included in the Supplemental Draft. Teams that select players in the Supplemental Draft lose their draft pick for that round in the following regular draft.
