With the first pick in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected cornerback Tyson Campbell from Georgia. The New York Jets followed with wide receiver Elijah Moore from Mississippi to give Zach Wilson a top-rated target. The Denver Broncos traded up with the Atlanta Falcons and picked running back Javonte Williams from North Carolina. The Miami Dolphins added to its division leading defense by taking Oregon safety Jevon Holland. Extremely talented but oft-injured center, Landon Dickerson of Alabama, was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles. The New England Patriots traded up with the Cincinnati Bengals to draft Christian Barmore, defensive tackle, Alabama. The Chicago Bears drafted tackle Teven Jenkins from Oklahoma State after obtaining the pick in a trade with the Carolina Panthers.
Safety Richie Grant from Central Florida was picked by the Atlanta Falcons. Levi Onwuzurike, a defensive tackle from Washington, went to the Detroit Lions. Miami Dolphins picked Liam Eichenberg, a tackle from Notre Dame. The Las Vegas Raiders selected safety Trevon Moehrig from TCU after obtaining the pick from the San Francisco 49ers. The Dallas Cowboys picked defensive back Kelvin Jones from Kentucky. The Jacksonville Jaguars picked Stanford tackle Walter Little who was hurt in 2019 and sat out 2020. The Cincinnati Bengals took tackle Jackson Carman from Clemson. The Los Angeles Chargers drafted defensive back Asante Samuel Jr. Notre Dame guard Aaron Banks will be blocking for Trey Lance and perhaps Jimmy Garoppolo in San Francisco. The Arizona Cardinals selected Rondale Moore, a wide receiver from Purdue. Azeez Ojulari, a pass rusher from Georgia, went to the Giants. The Washington Football Team picked Samuel Cosmi, a tackle from Texas.
The Cleveland Browns traded up to take speedy and agressive, but smallish, linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah from Notre Dame. Dillon Radunz, a tackle who protected Trey Lance at North Dakota State, was drafted by the Tennessee Titans. Defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo of Vanderbilt will join the Indianapolis Colts. The Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth of Penn State.
A few teams had a long wait in the 2021 NFL Draft before making their first pick. With their first pick in the draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected wide receiver D'Wayne Eskridge from Western Michigan. With their first pick in the draft, the Los Angeles Rams selected Louisville wide receiver Tutu Atwell. With their first pick in the draft, the Kansas City Chiefs took Nick Bolton, linebacker, Missouri.
LSU wide receiver Terrace Marshall rejoins Joe Brady as a Carolina Panther. Ohio State linebacker Pete Werner joins the New Orleans Saints. The Buffalo Bills picked defensive end Carlos Basham Jr. from Wake Forest. The Green Bay Packers new center, Josh Myers from Ohio State, must wonder who he'll be snapping the ball to with Aaron Rodger's commitment to the Packers now in doubt. The Kansas City Chiefs welcome Oklahoma center Creed Humphrey. The Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers added quarterback Kyle Trask from Florida, the only quarterback taken in the second round.
